Orange County –Pressed against the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful county nestled in between California’s Los Angeles and San Diego counties – welcomes over 40 million visitors each year. While many are drawn to Disneyland, others look to enjoy the breathtaking views offered by the county’s picturesque coastal cities. Here are some cities located in beautiful Orange County that will offer visitors and tourists an eyeful in the best possible ways.

1. Newport Beach, California

Home to the Balboa Peninsula, two piers, and some of the most beautiful beaches California has to offer, Newport Beach is a town that prides itself on its vast diversity of restaurants and top-rated schools. In 2012, Newport Beach’s beautiful shoreline was recognized in 2012 with CNN’s Five Stars for Cleanest Beach in the U.S.

2. Anaheim Hills, California

Anaheim Hills is a beautiful residential area with plenty of green space, including the wooded Oak Canyon Nature Center, with kid-friendly trails. Yorba Regional Park, is famous for fishing, riverfront paths, and a duck pond. For exercise and sometimes fun, cyclists ride dirt paths in Deer Canyon Park. It forms the borders of the following cities: San Juan, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, and Aliso Viejo. Laguna Niguel is California’s first master-planned community. You can visit one of the City’s popular beachfront parks to be one with nature.

10. Yorba Linda, California

Yorba Linda is an Orange County city and one of the best places to live in California. Known as the “Land of the Gracious Living,” this City has a strong sense of community and small-town character. Top 5 Neighborhoods in Menifee, California

Menifee, California, has a population of 116,834. Menifee is in Riverside County. Living in Menifee offers residents a sparse suburban feel, and most residents own their homes. In Menifee, there are a lot of parks.

Many families and retirees live in Menifee, and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Menifee are above average.

With all the different neighborhoods Menifee offers, it can be tough to decide where to live. I’ve selected five great neighborhoods based on my tenure in property management.

Let’s tour the city, shall we?

1. Andalusia

Andalusia is a gated common interest development community of 104 residences, each with its own private entrance. Their buildings and landscaping feature Mediterranean architecture reminiscent of the Andalusia region in Spain. This wonderful community offers a pool and clubhouse.

The common area includes a stunning pool, spa, recreation center, and more than 100 palm trees. The unique environment is further enhanced with a beautifully designed palm grove near the large central water fountain and a rose garden near the pool.

At night, well-placed lighting emphasizes the beauty of the architecture, fountains, and landscaping and makes it a joy to walk around the streets of their safe community.

The average rental rate for a 3-bedroom home in Andalusia is $ 3,207 a month. The average purchase price for a 3-bedroom home is $ 362,000.

2. Menifee Lakes

Menifee Lakes is a spectacular gated community. Offering three lakes, several parks, and miles of walking trails, Menifee Lakes is a highly sought-after community. Residents of the lake enjoy fishing, kayaking, and boating. If that’s not enough, residents can visit the Bay Club, where you will find waterslides, two refreshing swimming pools, and a fitness center. Not to mention the 20,000 square foot event center is spectacular.

Be sure to golf a few rounds at the Menifee Lakes Country Club. Featuring lush 36 acres of rolling greens, challenging fairways, and more. The great Ted Robinson influenced much of the design of this stunning course.

3. Park Ridge at Menifee Town Center

4. The Oasis

The Oasis is a beautiful community surrounding the 36-hole Menifee Lakes Country Club. This well-established community offers reasonably priced homes, great amenities, and an active lifestyle. It is ideally set in the heart of southern California within an hour of the ocean and the desert.

The gorgeous clubhouse includes a fitness center, grand ballroom with stage, arts and crafts studio, billiard room, and library. Outside, residents can enjoy tennis, bocce ball, and shuffleboard courts.

Plus, the glorious California sunshine by the outdoor pool and spa. The barbecue area is a great place to mingle with neighbors and meet new friends.

5. Sun City

Sun City was the first master-planned community of its kind in this area. Low-maintenance single-family homes and attached homes provide open floor plans perfect for today’s active adult buyers.

With all the different neighborhoods Lake Elsinore offers, it can be tough to decide where to live. I’ve selected five great neighborhoods based on my tenure in property management.

1. Canyon Hills

Canyon Hills is nestled in the foothills of Lake Elsinore, surrounded by its natural beauty. From the preserved natural open space to private recreation centers, sprawling community parks, and local shopping centers, residents who choose Canyon Hills will find an old-fashioned sense of community.

Established in 2001, Canyon Hills grew in stages to a total of 3,028 homes consisting of attractive and unifying community design themes with a down-to-earth aesthetic reflected throughout each of the neighborhoods.

The average rental rate for a 3-bedroom home in Canyon Hills is $2,985 a month. The average purchase price for a 3-bedroom home is $632,475.

2. Summerly Community

Summerly is a vibrant community in Lake Elsinore, California. The development of Summerly began in 2012 and has continued to flourish over the years with new neighborhoods and resort-style amenities.

It is a special kind of place where a sense of community just happens. Quaint neighborhood streets connect new homes to parks, trails, amenities, and all the fun you can handle.

Located near plenty of shopping centers filled with restaurants, retailers, and other necessities.

Located steps from the northwest shore of Lake Elsinore and nestled against the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains, Westlake offers the active outdoor lifestyle of Lake Elsinore and Temecula, along with the convenience of access to I-15 and Ortega Highway for nearby Orange County and San Diego commuters.

The average rental rate for a 2-bedroom home in Westlake is $2,450 a month. The average purchase price for a 2-bedroom home is $409,900.

5. Tuscany Hills

Tuscany Hills is a large residential community in Lake Elsinore, California. The community is comprised of several residential developments—Watermark, Tesoro, Vellagio, Classics, Arabella, and Volterra—which offer upscale single-family homes built between 1973 and 2006.

Provides residents with a variety of recreational activities to enjoy daily. The community has a private recreation center that features an outdoor swimming pool and sports courts that overlook the Tuscany Hills’ scenic landscape.

Woodcrest Christian High School

Woodcrest High School is part of the Woodcrest Christian School system, which includes Woodcrest Christian Middle School and Woodcrest Day School. The school’s system was founded in 1948 with the Day School, grades (TK-6) and expanded in 1973 to include the High School. After graduation, 85% of students from this school go on to attend a 4-year college. Woodcrest strives to prepare each of the students on how to thrive in the world confidently using their God-given talents and knowledge. Woodcrest Christian School Ranking is as follows. #103 of 174 best Christian High schools in California, #113 of 1,681 best high schools for athletes in California, and #147 of 214 best private K-12 schools in California. Martin Luther King Jr. High School

Martin Luther King Jr. High School has an impressive history behind it. It is a three-time California Distinguished School and is currently a part of the Big VIII League. It ranks amongst the best schools in Riverside and the surrounding area. Built in 1999, “King High” was the first high school to be built in the area since 1973. The school ranks #149 of 1,681 best high schools for athletes in California. For the last 20 years, the school has hosted “King High Remembers” to honor local veterans. Interested in sports, no problem, King has you covered. They boast roughly 20 sports you can choose from, ranging from Soccer to Water Polo. Want to join the choir, perfect, there are 5 different choirs to choose from.

Polytechnic High School

Also known as “Poly High” is located on Victoria Ave in Riverside, California. It is the oldest high school in Riverside founded in 1887. In 1965, the school moved to its current location. Interesting fact, in 1916, Polytechnic started offering postgraduate classes, thus was born Riverside Junior College. In 1920, the Junior College moved to its own campus. At one point during its history, the school offered a separate campus for boys and girls, however, during World War I, things changed, and campuses were combined. Not all was lost though, as they repurposed the buildings to create a junior high campus. During WWII, many Poly girls worked with a federal government program called High School Victory Corps. The girls learned how to make bandages and other items needed. In 1944, the program was dissolved.

Another cool fact, Poly High School is home to one of the original, still active Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) units. It is the oldest program west of the Mississippi River and the second oldest in the United States. Polytech also has a great legacy of notable alumni to walk its halls. Greats such as Cheryl Miller, WNBA coach and College Basketball Hall of Fame; Reggie Miller, Professional Basketball player for the Indiana Pacers; Sharon Jordan, Actress; Lauren Potter, Actress and advocate for people with disabilities. John W. North High School

If you play sports or are the parent of an athlete in Southern California, chances are you have heard of “JW North”, especially in the track and field world. Their track and field team has won more CIF and State titles than any other school in the Inland Empire. In 2018, their softball team made the CIF finals for the first time in the school’s history.

Besides their sports achievements, the school has a fantastic marching band. The Blue Star Regiment is part of the school’s Instrumental Music and Dance Program and has approximately 140 members. Central Orange County refers to the area in the county between the Northern and Southern Coastal regions. It includes cities such as Santa Ana, Orange, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Tustin, and Westminster, mostly midsized landlocked cities just a few miles from the Pacific coastline. Homes in the area are less expensive than those on the water, so you can have your cake and eat it by choosing a home in Central OC.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY

Fountain Valley was incorporated in 1957 and referred to as the high-water table in the area when the name was chosen for the city. Early settlers in the area built drainage canals to make the land usable for agriculture, which was the dominant land use until the 1960s, when housing tracts accelerated.

Fountain Valley is a “Suburban City,” meaning most residents commute to other urban centers for work. However, in recent years, Fountain Valley has seen increased commercial jobs with the “Southpark” district, located along the Santa Ana River. Mile Square Regional Park calls Fountain Valley home. This park is 640 acres containing two fishing lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, playing fields, and picnic shelters. Villa Park hosts “Villa Park Marine Thanksgiving” annually. This program allows community members to “adopt” a Marine from Pendleton base; most are young and have not been home in several months. Orange County is in Southern California, home to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Angel’s Baseball team. Not to mention some fantastic beaches. There are nearly 40 cities found in Orange County, so we have broken them down into “regions” so as not to bore you with bios of all the cities.

Let’s talk about the best cities and all the fun in North Orange County.

Anaheim

Anaheim is a city in Orange County, California. It’s home to the famous Mickey Mouse, Disneyland, Anaheim Ducks Hockey Team, and the Angels baseball team. It is the largest city in Orange County by population. Anaheim was founded in 1857 by fifty German families and remained an agricultural community until Disney landed and opened in 1955. This led to the significant construction of several hotels and motels around the areas, and residential districts soon followed.

Anaheim’s city limits are expansive, from Cypress in the west to the Riverside County line in the east. Anaheim Hills is a master-planned community located in the city’s eastern stretches. You will also find three mixed-use historic districts, the largest in the Anaheim Colony. Second, the Anaheim Resort, which includes the Disneyland Resort and a retail district. The third district is the Platinum Triangle, a redevelopment district surrounding Angel Stadium. Fun Fact about Anaheim: Milo Ventimiglia, from This, Is Us, and Greg Burson, the voice of Yogi Bear, both called Anaheim home.

Brea

The name Brea means “oil” or “tar’ in Spanish. It became the 8th city official city of Orange County in 1917, with a population of 752. The city was a center for crude oil production, then later propelled by its Citrus production. It’s now home to the large Brea Mall. Carl N. Karcher, the founder of Carl’s Jr. restaurants, opened the first two locations, one in Brea and one in Anaheim.

Brea was built around the oil industry and Union Oil Company of California. Baseball legend Walter Johnson grew up in the area and worked in the oil fields as a youth. As oil production declined, agricultural development took over. About 30 years later, the citrus groves gave way to industrial parks and residential development. Followed up the Orange Freeway. Buena Park

Buena Park was incorporated in 1953 and, at the time, was an agricultural center, particularly dairy, wine, and citrus products. Today, more than 80,000 people call Buena Park home.

Buena Park’s E-Zone district, located along Beach Boulevard, has many attractions: Knott’s Berry Farm, Soak City, Pirates Dinner Adventure, and Medieval Times Dinner. Cypress

Cypress was initially nicknamed “Waterville” due to the preponderance of artesian wells in the area. Local dairy farmers incorporated it in 1956 at Dairy City to stave off developers. After World War II, the land became too valuable for farming and ranching, and slowly, the dairies sold out to housing developers during the 1960s; by 1970, all dairies were sold. The city was renamed from Dairy City to Cypress after the Cypress trees were built around the elementary school to protect it from the Santa Ana winds.

Annually, the city hosts the Cypress Community Festival, currently the largest single-day birthday celebration for a city, on the 4th Saturday in July at Oak Knoll Park. A few notable natives called Cypress home, including John Stamos and Tiger Woods.

Fullerton

Founded in 1887, it was famous for Valencia Orange Groves and other citrus crops. It is home to Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton College. Fullerton is said to be the birthplace of the electric guitar, due in large part to Leo Fender. Fender Musical Instrument Corporation, with its proud roots in Fullerton, greatly revolutionized the music business and contributed to the rock and roll scene. Greats such as Gwen Stefanie and Singer-Songwriter Tim Buckley grew up in Fullerton.

Fullerton has over 50 city parks, including Hillcrest Park, Craig Regional Park, and Ralph B. Clark Park. The Fullerton Arboretum comprises 26 acres of sculpted gardens and unusual plants. The city features approximately 200 acres of recreational land in the Brea Dam Recreational Area, an equestrian center and trails, two golf courses, a tennis center, and a swim complex.

La Habra

Founded in 1896 and was famous for being the largest producer of avocados. Specifically, Read and Haas avocados…Yum! An interesting fact that you may not know is that La Habra has an annual Corn Festival, usually held around August to November, at the El Centro Lions Park. Another exciting fair to check out is the La Habra Citrus Fair.

Need something for the kiddos to do? You can find The Children’s Museum at La Habra as a great children’s museum inside a 1923 Train Depot and was the first of its kind west of the Mississippi. La Palma hosts several community events annually, including the Halloween Carnival, Hometown Heroes Concert, the Fitness Run for Fun, and the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Placentia

In 1971, Placentia was honored with the prestigious “All American City” award, given out annually by the National Civic League. Placentia is home to the Heritage Festival, held in October each year. You will find the Placentia Certified Farmers Market in the Town Center on Tuesday evenings. Here, you will find approximately 30 vendors offering yummy treats and more.

Yorba Linda

Yorba Linda, known as the “Land of Gracious Living”, has a strong sense of community and small-town character. More than likely, you had heard of this city once or twice, especially if you were alive when Nixon was President. Yorba Linda was his birthplace and is a National Historic Landmark, thanks to the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. Farmers could grow barley and sheep grazing during the city’s early years. Followed by citrus groves and avocado trees. Today, residents oppose further urban development and have organized to reduce traffic. In 2012, Yorba Linda was ranked 42nd on Money magazine’s list of America’s best small cities.

Plenty to keep you busy in this “small town”, from the Black Gold Golf Club to the Nixon Library and lots of Equestrian Centers to choose from. The city has over 100 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, and equestrians. Looking for a place to hang your hat? Yorba Linda might be the city for you.

Top Universities in Riverside County, CA

Naturally, shortly after enrolling in High School, for some, possibly sooner, you start thinking about what College to attend. If you aren’t familiar with Riverside and your options for many colleges, I am here to help you. Riverside is best known for the Orange Groves, The Mission Inn, and the Festival of Lights, but Riverside is home to many Colleges that offer premium education.

Being part of the leasing team, I receive hundreds of calls annually for housing near the major universities in Riverside. These schools are some of the most sought-after schools in the State, drawing in thousands of new students each year. Whether you are looking for a public school or a private school, more than likely you will find a school for you in Riverside, CA.

University of California, Riverside

Topping the charts is the University of California, Riverside. This school was ranked No. 12 in the U.S. and No. 9 among public universities by Money Magazine for 2019. Currently, home to approximately 27,000 students and growing! This school is popular because its well-known education system offers various academic and research subjects. Aspiring Engineers are known to drift towards this school. This college is also only a driving distance from major cultural and recreation sites and within walking distance of a movie theater in University Village, which offers student discounts. The University Village hosts yummy spots to grab food and drinks between classes, study, and hang out on dates. You have options to choose from, like the Boba Cafe, Poke Bar, and if you’re like me, you can get a quick manicure and pedicure at The Signature Nails & Spa. This university is also surrounded by a wide variety of places to live. To add, we also manage some of these surrounding rentals. UCR is also ranked very high in several aspects.

La Sierra University

La Sierra University was named the most diverse university in the western United States in the past five years! The key mission that drives this university is “To Seek, To Know, and To Serve” La Sierra University encourages students to develop a deeper relationship with God. This school is committed to learning and service. Consistent with the life teachings of Jesus Christ and their belief in a God of grace and redeeming love. This University maintains a safe and civil campus environment. This campus sits on 150 acres in beautiful Southern California and has a fantastic doctoral program. This campus is thriving in its relationship with God and amongst each other and has many community outreach programs benefiting the neighborhood. The staff and students must be able to ensure one time to promote growth. While La Sierra University is well known for its Pre-med and Pre-dent programs, with many of its graduates enrolling in Loma Linda University for Doctor and Dental Degrees, La Sierra University also has a world-renowned School of Business winning top awards in the SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) competitions globally for the past decade or more, which is now called ENACTUS World Cup. Our very own Consultant – Conrad Noah, is an alumnus of this prestigious school.

California Baptist University

California Baptist University is one of the top private Christian colleges and universities in Southern California. CBU is in Riverside right off Magnolia and sits on 160 acres.

They even have their very own Chic-Fil-A! I discovered the Chic-Fil-A because I had GPS, the closest one. To my surprise, I pulled into the campus. I was a little confused, but the Gate Patrol kindly let me know I also had access to the restaurant. It was a very nice experience and let me tell you that the parking was very easy. I parked and crossed one street, and I was there. The inside of the building was very clean, and you could just feel the positivity around you. All the students were very kind; not often when you make eye contact with someone and exchange a smile. It’s no coincidence that this is a 100% Christian Faculty and Staff. Most importantly, this school offers degrees at the Associate, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral levels. Fall enrollment was a whopping total of 11,496. The CBU’s bachelor’s degree programs in civil engineering, electrical, computer, and mechanical have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. If any of these fields interest you, please check ABET Accreditation. CBU is right off Adams Auto Center, which will take you to the freeway, which will lead you to a beach within one hour or Las Vegas opposite way within 3 hours. CBU is about 10 minutes from Galleria at Tyler (formerly Tyler Mall), which shares a parking lot with Barnes and Noble, which is perfect for studying. The school is surrounded by grocery stores like Stater Bro’s, the 99 Cent store, and many restaurants. So, if you do not have a car, do not fret. Your feet will be where you need to go within a few minutes.

Riverside City College

Lastly, we have Riverside City College (formerly Riverside Community College). I personally did not experience University life, but I did attend my local community college. Through my school, I was able to get my first professional job as a Loan Processor. The school offers great opportunities for students so long as they have the required hours, credits, and grades. This school is home to 36,000 students annually and excels in programs like liberal arts, science, nursing, and performing arts. The school offers associate degrees and certificates that aid students in transferring to a university or into the workforce. Riverside City College is an affordable school with an amazing educational program. Most popular majors include Liberal Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Child Care Programs. This doesn’t end here, though. RCC also offers Cosmetology classes, welding, law enforcement, and physical training. It only makes sense to attend this school if you are on a budget but looking to gain incredible knowledge. 61 percent of the students attending RCC agree that the workload is manageable, and 78% of the students agree that the professors put a lot of effort into teaching their classes. The school is located in downtown Riverside and is within walking distance of almost everything. Instead of fighting parking to view the Festival of Lights at the Mission Inn, you can stroll there without worrying about parking fees. The area is also surrounded by hip bars and clubs and tasty eats. You get to experience and enjoy college life without paying so much in university fees.

From Riverside, you can reach some great destinations such as Newport Beach, Disneyland, Los Angles, Big Bear, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, and many other great adventures. You will never be bored. Top Beaches in Orange County

Summer has arrived here in California, which means sunny days ahead and perfect weather for the beach. Let’s be real…any day is good for the beach. We are fortunate to have some of the most beautiful beaches. The perfect beach awaits you whether you are a surfer, splasher, or sunbather.

Ready to hit the beach now? I have you covered!

Victoria Beach

Victoria Beach is a romantic getaway great for couples needing some alone time. Make your way down the long stairway down to the Victoria Tour. This medieval structure was built in 1926, which led the homeowners above straight down to the beach. Once at the beach, enjoy the gorgeous sunset that will make you feel like you are living a story from a Danielle Steel novel. Pack your favorite picnic basket with wine, cheese, and maybe some chocolate-covered strawberries to set the mood.

Dana Point Harbor Beach (aka Baby Beach)

If you have offspring that won’t allow you to a private getaway with your honey, head to Dana Point Harbor Beach (aka Baby Beach). This family-friendly beach is in the protected waters of Dana Point Harbor. A small beach is roped off for families and has a lifeguard on hand. Behind the beach, you will find a grass park for picnicking and sunbathing. The kids will want to explore the Pilgrim, a replica of a historic ship. Surely, the kids are bound to fall asleep on the ride back home, giving you time to change the kid toons to something more age-appropriate.

Newport Beach

One of my favorite beaches is Newport Beach. This cute beach has a pier perfect for a late-night stroll where you can admire fishermen hard at work fighting off hungry seals stealing their bate and fish. If you enjoy getting into the water, then, of course, you will want to go during the day. Parking is not terrible, and it is right off the beach. Your toes will touch the sand right out of the car. I might be exaggerating a little. The parking lot shares a cute little strip of stores and eateries. You can try anything from Mexican favorite antojitos to Boba drinks and ice cream. If you aren’t foody, you can also check out the bar right next door. If you are saving your appetite for a hearty meal, you can find the Old Spaghetti Factory right across the street, and you can also park there for $10 to head over to the beach. You do know how the sun and water build up a massive appetite.

Aliso Beach

Aliso Beach is also a great family-friendly beach. This beach features a tidepool exploration, but please don’t touch it! Aliso Beach also has sandcastle-building activities. Aside from convenient parking, if you ask me what a beach must-have is, the answer is… a snack bar! Which this beach has. A fully stocked concession stands with all your guilty pleasures. This is perfect if you don’t feel like toting snacks and bags around. You can do so much at the beach, such as sunbathing, surfing, boogie boarding, and paddle boarding, but you cannot fish or take any marine life home. I don’t feel like that’s asking much. It only makes sense to protect our environment, admire it from afar, and not disturb anything.

Huntington Beach

I also love fire pits. Seriously, anywhere there is a firepit, I am a happy girl. Huntington Beach offers fire pits and wood for sale so you and your guests can enjoy a beautiful fire by the beach. I mean, even just saying that gives me immediate tranquility. Picture yourself alone or with your preferred person or people sitting near a bonfire, admiring the sunset and ocean breeze. When I first moved out to California, this was one of my top 5 things to do immediately. Parking has been said to be expensive, so make sure you leave with enough time to park as close as possible in the cheapest and safest area. The beach also has a long pier with a lot of restaurants to choose from. You can check out Duke’s Huntington Beach or Sandy’s Beach Shack, just to fill in your tummy before making that long day stroll. The last time I was there, we ate outside the restaurant overlooking the ocean, and I was lucky enough to see three dolphins. It was pretty memorable. If you haven’t already, you need to check this place out; if you have, take your family and friends.

California is well known for many things, and the activities are endless, but nothing beats good old-fashioned fun on a sunny beach day. Free Vitamin D for your bones, good minerals in the water, and sand as a natural exfoliator. Your mind and body will be at peace from being so relaxed to thinking of the regular worries. Always be cautious and respectful; remember that we are so small compared to the world’s natural wonders. Have good, safe fun, and make memories to last a lifetime.😊
